About Our Felt Products
Our products are made from 100% natural wool felt, coloured with azo-free dyes. Wool felt is naturally antimicrobial (it resists bacteria and mould), durable, renewable, and biodegradable, a beautiful and sustainable alternative to plastic.
Yes, every piece is handcrafted by skilled artisans. Because each item is made by hand, small variations in colour, texture, shape, and size are normal. That’s part of the charm: no two pieces are ever exactly alike, and these variations are not defects.
We photograph our products as accurately as possible, but colours can appear slightly different depending on your screen, and natural dye batches can vary a little from piece to piece.
Yes. We use azo-free dyes, which are free from the harmful azo compounds restricted in many countries. Please note that some colour may run when felt gets very wet – especially vibrant or dark shades. This is a natural characteristic of azo-free dyed felt and nothing to worry about.
Spot clean with a soft cloth, cool water, and mild soap (wool wash or baby shampoo), then air dry away from direct sunlight and heat. Never machine wash, tumble dry, wring, or use hot water or bleach. See our Wool Felt Care Guide for full step-by-step spot cleaning and deep cleaning instructions.
Felt Toys
Wool felt is a naturally safe, soft material and our toys contain no sharp edges or toxic finishes. However, some toys include small parts or decorative elements, so we recommend checking the age guidance on each product listing and always supervising babies and toddlers during play. Felt toys are not chew toys or teething toys.
Most of our play sets, play mats, and peg-style toys are best suited to children aged 3 and up. Items without small parts may suit younger children – each product listing includes specific age guidance.
Absolutely, that’s what they’re designed for. Felt play food, play mats, animals, and seasonal sets are wonderful for imaginative play, storytelling, sensory play, and educational settings such as kindergartens and Steiner/Montessori-inspired homes.
Yes, light pilling is normal for wool felt with regular use. You can gently remove pills by hand or with a fabric comb, it won’t harm the toy.
Felt Cat Caves
A cat cave is a cosy, enclosed bed hand-felted from thick wool. Cats love them because they mimic the warm, den-like hiding spots cats naturally seek out. Wool also regulates temperature beautifully warm in winter and cool in summer.
Our standard cat caves suit most cats up to around 6-7 kg. If your cat is larger, or simply loves stretching out, choose the larger size where available. Check the dimensions on each product listing against your cat’s size.
Give it time, some cats dive straight in, others take days or weeks to warm up to a new bed. Try placing the cave in a quiet spot your cat already likes, rubbing it with a familiar blanket, or sprinkling a little catnip inside. Once they claim it, they rarely give it up.
Vacuum or lint-roll the cave regularly to remove hair, and spot clean marks with cool water and mild soap. For a deeper clean, hand wash gently in cool water following our Care Guide, press out the water between towels, reshape the cave, and let it air dry completely. Never machine wash or tumble dry the cave will shrink and lose its shape.
Yes. Wool felt is wonderfully resilient: lightly dampen the cave, reshape it with your hands (stuffing it with a towel helps hold the dome shape), and let it air dry fully.
Yes, wool is a natural, breathable, chemical-free fibre, and our azo-free dyes are pet-safe. If your cat is a persistent wool-chewer, supervise use as you would with any fabric bed.
Christmas Ornaments & Seasonal Décor
Not at all, that’s one of their best features. Unlike glass baubles, felt ornaments won’t shatter if they fall, making them perfect for homes with young children and pets.
Store them in a breathable fabric bag or box in a cool, dry place, away from moisture and pests. Avoid sealed plastic containers, which can trap humidity. Stored well, felt ornaments will come out looking beautiful year after year.
Store felt in a clean, dry place and add a natural moth deterrent such as cedar blocks or lavender sachets. Airing your felt pieces out once or twice a year also helps.
Yes, our hanging ornaments come with a loop or cord attached, ready for your tree, garlands, or gift wrapping.
We recommend ordering by early December for standard delivery or using Express closer to Christmas. During the holiday peak, carriers get very busy, so earlier is always safer keep an eye on our website for cut-off dates each year.
